Ghanaian and Nigerian fans are sharing heads on social media after the two African giants drew in March’s crucial 2022 World Cup qualifiers for a place in Qatar.
Social media was ignited with fans of the two West African nations – who have huge similarities – clashed in a war of words.
The tie between hosts and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations favorites Cameroon and defending champions Algeria is arguably the biggest in Saturday’s draw.
But it probably won’t generate as much buzz as the showdown between eternal rivals Ghana and Nigeria.
West African neighbors for ages have been locked in a battle of superiority over food, economy, power, music, governance and almost every conceivable concept under the sky.
The Black Stars have won four Afcon trophies, eclipsing the Super Eagles’ three crowns. And in head-to-head matches between the two, the Stars have 21 wins against Nigeria’s 10, while another 18 games have ended in draws.
The final round of #WCQ clashes have been announced! 🏆
